In these lockdown times, many of us are not getting out to see the natural world as much as we would like to. So......... why not let it come to us instead?
The national plant charity Plantlife is encouraging us not to mow our lawns this month. Then when we get the chance between 23rd and 31st pop out and count the flowers.
You will probably be very surprised what beautiful things are hunkered down in there, just waiting for their moment to shine!
With the numbers of bees, butterflies and moths plummeting, more flowers means more nectar cafes for them to get their fill.
Give it a go - if you've got time on your hands or kids to "entertain" it could kickstart lots of different activities like photography, maths projects or identifying them and looking up more about their ecology and folklore.
