New skills for our volunteers

In January, five volunteers from the Friends of Saltwells Nature Reserve attended training in emergency first aid, learning how to administer CPR and how to use a defibrillator. The course also covered how to deal with bleeding, fractures and choking, and how to help a person suffering from a pre-existing condition such as diabetes or asthma.
This now brings the number of our volunteers trained in first aid up to six, meaning that at least one trained first aider will be available for each of our events.
