The Friends of Saltwells Nature Reserve have been commissioned by Creative Black Country to organise a series of free family craft events at Saltwells over the Spring and Summer months. The crafts will be linked to the Four Elements sculpture, carved from slabs of oak, which can be found at the crossroads of the main footpath from the nature reserve car park. Each of the four sessions being offered will focus on one of the four elements featured on the sculpture- Earth, Water, Wind, Fire, and will also celebrate what the seasons have to offer in the nature reserve.
The activities will be free and accessible for all ages and each participant will create their own piece which can be taken home at the end of the session.
Our first session will be held in the school Easter holiday on Earth Day- Friday 22nd April, focussing on ‘Earth’ and growth in Springtime. Come along to make your own clay pot, plant wild flower seeds and make wild flower seed bombs. The session will run from 11am to 3pm in the Wardens’ Base next to Saltwells Nature Reserve carpark- DY5 1AX.
We hope to see you at one or all of these events soon.
